Project Overview #06.003
Alaska Airline’s Terminal Renovation - Nome Alaska
This project involves the renovation and upgrade of the existing Alaska Airlines Terminal Cargo and Maintenance structure. The existing terminal and TSA security area’s required extensive rework of structure, electrical and mechanical requirements to include the installation of new walls, carpet, painting and seating.
The TSA area was enlarged and passenger flow patterns altered to better serve outgoing and incoming flights. The addition of a 2820 square foot new single story structure attached to the existing terminal will increase’s the usable area of the main terminal by 1040 square feet effectively doubling the current passenger area. Additional areas in the new structure include: service shop area, new air cargo office and new walk-in cooler and freezer units in the cargo space.
The current cargo area was enlarged by moving of exterior walls to cover existing exterior pads. The addition of an extended mezzanine created an additional 2000 square feet of cargo storage. New asphalt parking lot on the south side of the structure, new guard rails, and protective bollards around the majority of the structure complete the basic scope of work on this project.
Substantial completion will be in the latter part of January 2007 with a return in mid-Spring 2007 for final completion of the exterior (shutdown due to early 2006 winter weather).
Dokoozian Construction, LLC was involved in pre-construction planning, project logistics and shipping including over-all project management and administration of this project.
